Only three weeks to the launch of the COGEN CHALLENGE campaign

On 7 February 2006, the information campaign COGEN CHALLENGE will be launched. In the framework of the annual Managenergy conference, the COGEN CHALLENGE team will present and explain aims and tools of the campaign to a wide range of stakeholders of the energy efficiency sector. Interested parties are invited to visit the campaign team at the exhibition linked to the Managenergy conference. COGEN CHALLENGE is the European information campaign on small-scale cogeneration. Over the next 18 months, a team of nine organisations from six different European countries will employ a multitude of means to increase the public awareness of this innovative and energy saving technique. "Cogeneration is a concept not very easy to grasp immediately", project co-ordinator Frank Knecht says. "In order to overcome the wide-spread information deficit on different levels, our actions aim at informing energy sector professionals as well as the average 'man on the street'."Campaigning tools include a training of the trainers, the establishment of six regional "small-scale cogeneration facilitators", a series of workshops and seminars, media events and the dissemination of information material such as fact sheets, brochures, best practices, contact lists and calculation tools.
